There are many hot spring places around Tokyo.(by　maple)

It’s so refreshed just leave the city, go to country side and take the Onsen.
I found out one of the good spot in Saitama.
Taking the onsen and staying the greens, you get a good hearing!(pictures of Shiki no Yu)

Lavender in Furano, Hokkaido!

It’s a good season for Lavender from the end of June in Furano.Let’s go there! You’ll see the full of the flower garden there. If you feel Frano is too far, there is another place to go by two hours from Tokyo.(Tanbara Lavender Park)

I went Madarao Kogen Skiing place on the last weekend.
It was 90cm snowfall on Friday and it’s 110m snowfall now.
The ski season came back again!(Madarao Kogen)

Hinamatsuri

Hinamatsuri is on March 3rd. It's a girl's day and an occasion to pray for young girls' growth and happiness. Most homes with girls display dolls for the Doll's Festival and dedicate to them peach blossoms, rice cake cubes, special colored and diamond-shaped rice cakes, white sake, and other items.The origin of hinamatsuri is an ancient Chinese practice in which the sin of the body and misfortune are transferred to a doll and washed away by setting the doll in a river to drift away. When this practice spread to Japan, it was linked to girl's playing with dolls and, in the Edo Period(1603-1867), was developed into the hinamatsuri.(by Bilingual Handbook on Japanese Culture by natsumesha)

A Happy New Year!

It is generally celebrated for the first three days for "Shotatsu" in Japan. It's called "Shogatsu Yasumi" between the 29th of December and the 3rd or 4th of January. Many people who live away from their families return home to spend this time with their families or go to travel with families or friends.
I went snowboarding with my friends at Grandeco resort in Fukushima.
They have enough snow now. It's good place to go skiing or snowboarding.
It's been beautiful days and not so crowded. We had a lot of fun there.

There is a lot of snow in the last year in Sapporo. I saw beautiful illuminations at Odori Park.
We have many good spots for Christmas illuminations in Tokyo, too. Omotesando one has started again in this year! I should check it!

It's so difficult to find a house with a private garden!

Specially in the central of Tokyo.
This is a beautiful garden I found in Setagaya-ku. This kind of garden is very rare to find.
If it's for a rent property, the house owner take care of the garden. But if you are the owner, it will be expensive to pay for the maintaine of the garden. You need to trim the tree at least once a year and weed sometime.
